Nokia embraces Ramadan

Nokia have released new content to coincide with the festival of Ramadan, including prayer alerts, a digital version of the Koran, and a guide to the benefits of fasting.

Rafe Blandford from All About Symbian brings news of the fully searchable Koran – you can find specific verses and suras - can also be listened to (it has been narrated by Sheikh Al-Hudhaifi). There is an option to receive alarms for prayer times, and a guide to the journey and traditions of Hajj. There’s even the option to create and send mobile greeting cards. Available in Arabic, English, Urdu and French, this will surely be massively downloaded over the Ramadan period.

Do you think this is a useful addition to your device? What other cultural uses do you think would be handy to have in your pocket? Jump over and share your thoughts.
